do you do internet co-operation?

Posted on March 3rd, 2009

Since Google docs got very efficient, this is one of the best ways ever of co-operating with a large team over the internet . It's worked well on a recent job with a team from Cuba, India and the UK. Also, have used a customised Project Manager tool to achieve the same result if you want something more "private" . Just email and ask. Naturally both Skype and IM work well for this if a more dynamic conversation is required over distance.

Skype

Video also available

A lot of people like the video call capability in Skype - you get to see the other person's face live and it's a far clearer communication. I prefer to set up Skype calls in advance - book one by email on skype@mikehandley.co.uk or just give it a try - my Skype name is byanothername. I am working on setting up SMS online and will include it soon.

Instant Messaging

Useful for a group chat - and saves the text as a transcript too

Working with a team is easy using instant messaging - what's more, you get a text transcript of work conversations if you want one to look back upon. You can instant message on msnmikehandley@hotmail.com or handley.mike@yahoo.co.uk.
